<p>The setting of prices is a commercial decision for the companies concerned, provided
they comply with general consumer law, which requires that consumers are treated fairly,
are not misled and are able to make properly informed choices, between products and
between businesses.</p><p> </p><p>We have a robust legal framework that provides strong
protections for consumers. My rt. hon. Friend the Secretary of State set out in his
recent letter to the Competition and Markets Authority, that we want to see greater
enforcement against subscription traps and that ultimately roll-over contracts should
be as easy to exit as they are to enter. In the Consumer White Paper, we will consider
proposals to strengthen our system of public enforcement of consumer law while maintaining
the benefits of the current landscape.</p>
