<p>School nurses can be employed by a range of organisations including health trusts
and, more recently, local authorities. Current data collections do not cover the complete
range of these organisations. As a result, it is not possible to provide accurate
data on the total size of the school nurse workforce. The data in the table below
presents statistics on school nurses employed by National Health Service trusts and
clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in England only.</p><p> </p><p>NHS Hospital and
Community Health Services (HCHS): Qualified Nurses working in the area of School Nursing
in NHS trusts and CCGs in England as at 30 September each specified year and 31 May
