<p>The Government has engaged constructively with the European Parliament's Committee
of Inquiry into Money Laundering, Tax Avoidance and Tax Evasion.</p><p> </p><p>In
February 2017, the previous Financial Secretary to the Treasury and the previous Economic
Secretary to the Treasury wrote to the Chair of the European Parliament to set out
the extensive recent steps the UK had taken in these areas. In the same month, Members
of the Committee visited London and met with senior officials from the UK's cross-agency
Panama Papers Taskforce to discuss their important work.</p>
