<p>The Government is very aware of the pressures currently faced by Kent County Council in caring for unaccompanied asylum seeking children. We are working closely with Kent on the operational and financial implications of this. We are also working with Kent and other local authorities to consider possible future arrangements for the management of unaccompanied asylum seeking children. In the meantime, we are providing additional funding to local authorities agreeing to accept such cases from Kent.</p>
