<p>All female offenders are held in resettlement prisons. The Prisoners’ Earnings
Act 1996 was brought into force on 26 September 2011. It enables prison governors
to impose a levy of up to 40% on the wages of low-risk prisoners who work outside
prison on temporary licence, in order to prepare for their eventual release.</p><p>
</p><p>The table below sets out the numbers of female offenders who are in paid work
while on resettlement day release and are paying 40% of their wage to Victim Support
