	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/10/2019 answer text <p>Ministers and officials have regular engagement with a large number of businesses across all sectors, including from the automotive, pharmaceutical and retail and food sectors, to ensure they are prepared for the UK leaving the EU on the 31st October.</p><p>Ministers have hosted a regular series of roundtables both in Westminster and around the UK in recent months, where they have had the chance to speak to and hear directly from a wide range of businesses both large and small.</p><p>In order to help business prepare for exiting the EU on 31 October, the Government have come together to deliver a new series of 'One HMG' events, starting from Monday 16 September to 18 October. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/06/2019 answer text <p>Through the National Living Wage (NLW) and National Minimum Wage (NMW), the Government ensures that the lowest paid in our society are fairly rewarded for their work. April 2019’s increase to the NLW will see nearly 1.8 million workers in the UK receive a 4.9% pay rise. A full-time worker on the NLW will now be more than £2,750 better off over the year compared to when it was first announced in 2015.</p><p> </p><p>The table below provides estimates for the number and proportion of jobs in the UK and Yorkshire and the Humber on the NLW and NMW in 2019. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 03/10/2019 answer text <p>Through the National Living Wage (NLW) and National Minimum Wage (NMW) the Government helps to protect the lowest paid in society. In April, the Government increased the NLW by 4.9% to £8.21. This means that a full-time worker on the NLW will be £2,750 better off over the course of a year, compared to when the policy was first introduced.</p><p> </p><p>Employers are required by law to ensure that all workers due the NMW or NLW receive it. The Government takes tough action against the minority of employers who underpay the NMW. We are pursuing a range of actions to promote awareness and understanding of what businesses, including SMEs, need to do.</p><p>We have published an SME Brexit guidance leaflet and launched a series of Get Ready Roadshows. These specifically target SMEs with information and advice and ensure intermediaries, such as banks and accountants, have the information needed to support businesses. We also recently unveiled a £10 million Business Readiness Fund for business organisations and trade associations to support businesses across the UK in understanding the steps they should take to prepare for 31 October.</p><p>Along with key local partners, the Humber LEP and Growth Hub are playing an important role in helping to deliver events and provide information to support local businesses. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>The Government is committed to helping people make good financial decisions, establishing the Money and Pensions Service to provide free support and guidance on all aspects of people’s financial lives. It has increased funding for the provision of debt advice in each of the past two years rising to almost £56million this year in England, which will deliver 560,000 debt advice sessions.</p><p> </p><p>Where individuals do get into problem debt the government has announced it will deliver its manifesto commitment for a Breathing Space scheme, which will protect debtors from creditor action, help them get professional advice on their debt problems, and enable them to find an appropriate and sustainable debt solution.</p><p> </p><p>The regional personal insolvency rate increased in 2018, driven mainly by individual voluntary arrangements (IVAs), with all regions following the national trend.</p><p> </p><p>Historically, males had a higher rate of insolvencies per 10,000 adults than females, but the gender gap noticeably narrowed from 2009 onwards and, by 2014, females began to have higher insolvency rates than males. The Registrar of Companies has no current powers to verify or validate the identities of directors.</p><p> </p><p>The Government published a consultation on Corporate Transparency and Register Reform on 5 May and this will remain open until 5 August. 	answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 23/07/2019 answer text <p>Companies House cannot confirm how many incidences of fraudulent use of addresses through Companies House there have been in (a) Wales and (b) the UK in each of the last five years.</p><p> </p><p>Companies House registers a number of types of address: companies registered office addresses, the service addresses and usual residential addresses of directors and persons with significant control (although residential addresses are not made publicly available), subscribers and certain shareholders addresses, and single alternative inspection addresses for company registers.</p><p> </p><p>If Companies House receives a complaint alleging that address information has been fraudulently filed with it, the law provides certain administrative and court remedies. This covers situations where information is invalid or ineffective, delivered without the authority of the company or factually inaccurate or derived from something factually inaccurate or forged.
