<p>The Government is committed to ending unfair hospital car parking charges by making
parking free for those in greatest need, including disabled people, with rollout having
commenced in some trusts from April and in others on a rolling basis throughout the
course of this year, subject to the constraints imposed by the pandemic.</p><p>These
new requirements are being mandated through the NHS Standard Contract, to make car
parking more consistent across England. The 2020/21 contract asked the National Health
Service in England to do all it can to implement them from April 2020 and requires
it to do so from January 2021.</p>
