answer text <p>The Prime Minister has appointed Adam Tolley KC to conduct an independent investigation into formal complaints which have been made about the conduct of the Rt Hon Dominic Raab MP, the Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Chancellor and Secretary of State for Justice.</p><p>The Terms of Reference for the investigation have been published on gov.uk. It provided a published update on the investigation relating to the Peckham protests on its website on 4th July <ins class="ministerial">2022</ins><del class="ministerial">2002</del>, when it also appealed for witnesses. answer text <p><del class="ministerial">The Government implemented a major overhaul of police complaints and discipline in February 2020. These reforms included ensuring that those making a formal complaint against the police have a right to an independent review either by their local Police and Crime Commissioner or by the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) depending on the circumstances of the complaint. Forces have the option of involving another force’s Professional Standards Department if appropriate. The IOPC oversees the complaints system, producing statutory guidance and publishing statistics on force performance on handling complaints to ensure consistency.</del> The most serious misconduct allegations must be referred immediately by forces to the IOPC for consideration and investigation at the IOPC’s discretion. The Government has undertaken to review the effectiveness of the IOPC later this year. The Home Affairs Committee published its own assessment of police conduct and complaints in March 2022. The Government has said in response that it will review the impact of its 2020 reforms in line with post legislative scrutiny guidance.</p>

answer text <p>As outlined in my written statement to the House on 19 May 2022 (HCWS42), the cautious parameters set by the Safety Panel within which the Ajax user validation trials are to be conducted included the temporary use of Crewgard <ins class="ministerial">Mk2</ins> headsets to allow the modifications proposed by General Dynamics to be trialled. The longer-term solution is being taken forward through the Armoured Fighting Vehicle <ins class="ministerial">(AFV)</ins> headset project, through which the first headsets are being procured and expected to enter service later this year. <ins class="ministerial">In the meantime, an Urgent Capability Requirement is being progressed for new headsets to support the in-service AFV fleets.</ins></p><p> </p> more like this
