Mitigation of noise is being incentivised through the procurement process of the first rolling stock fleet. The market is therefore required to offer the best possible performance based on available technologies.</p><p> </p><p>Rolling stock solutions will not however be confirmed until after the first rolling stock contract has been awarded and the subsequent detailed design of the trains.
