answer text
Food insecurity caused by conflict, increasing global commodity prices and climate change is a longstanding vulnerability for many in Nigeria. We expect 4.3 million people will need food assistance this lean season (June-August 2023) in the states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe alone. Our Humanitarian Assistance and Resilience Programme (HARP) is aligned with the UN Humanitarian Response Plan, which is focussed on North East Nigeria, where we are providing life-saving assistance to address food insecurity and malnutrition, particularly amongst children.
more like this

Last year in Somalia approximately 50,000 people received UK funded nutrition and health services. A further 200,000 malnourished women and children benefited from UK assistance in Ethiopia. answer text
We are pursuing all diplomatic avenues to end the violence and de-escalate tensions. The Foreign Secretary and I are working with international partners to engage all parties in Sudan. The UK has joined US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, UN Secretary-General António Guterres and others in calling for an immediate cessation to the fighting, and we welcome the ceasefire in effect from midnight on 25 April. Statements from across the international community continue to call for an end to hostilities, including a UK-led UN Security Council (UNSC) statement. At the UK's request the UNSC met on the afternoon of 25 April to discuss the situation in Sudan. The Foreign Secretary and I led calls with the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Kenya, Saudi Arabia, and regional groupings to discuss the situation and coordinate a response. We continue to explore opportunities to engage with Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces senior leadership.
more like this

answer text
As part of its ongoing rigorous safety monitoring of COVID-19 vaccines, the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) closely reviews the Yellow Card reports it receives in the United Kingdom alongside safety data from its other sources from the UK and internationally, including mortality statistics. The MHRA also works closely with its UK public health partners to evaluate data on the safety and effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccines. Following an assessment of the available data, the MHRA concluded that the evidence does not support an association between the COVID-19 vaccines and an increased risk of cardiac related death, or death from any cause. This conclusion has been supported by the independent Commission on Human Medicines’ COVID-19 Vaccine expert advisory group.
more like this

These returns are collected at regular intervals by a waste contractor commissioned by each integrated care board (ICB). Pharmacies that do not accept returns are in breach of their Terms of Service.
