The former Minister for Africa raised the issue of access for Somalia and Eritrea Monitoring Group with the Eritrean Foreign Minister when they met in New York in September 2017. The Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights has also undertaken four visits to Eritrea since 2014 and started direct discussions with the Government of Eritrea on a number of areas of human rights concern. The most appropriate opportunity to do so will be at the peer review stage of Eritrea’s next Universal Periodic Review which is due in January-February 2019. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/03/2018 answer text <p>​Eritrea remains a priority country in the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's annual human rights report. The overwhelming majority of people can practise their religion peacefully and are allowed to do so, but legal restrictions and harassment on the practice of some religions undermines the harmony and freedom of religion or belief in Eritrea. We are concerned by the detention of individuals and groups from proscribed religious groups, and senior individuals from religious organisations.
