In the financial year 2018/19, BEIS received a final allocation of £139.5m. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/04/2019 answer text <p>The Government’s objective has always been to have a functioning statute book in place by Exit Day and to ensure that the most critical secondary legislation was made by this point.</p><p>Each SI in the Department was carefully considered on a case-by-case basis.</p><p>As part of this analysis, BEIS officials considered the material impact of each SI and whether the changes required were minor and technical in nature, and therefore not deemed essential to be in force from day one.</p><p>These considerations and assessments have meant that my Department has been able to lay the critical secondary legislation required before we exit the EU.</p><p>The laying of EU Exit SIs allows Parliament to fulfil its essential scrutiny role. The exact nature of this scrutiny, and the steps required before an SI completes its passage, is dependent on the type of SI. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/02/2019 answer text <p>BEIS is leading one of the largest programmes of EU exit deliver across government. We have recruited 700 new staff to work on EU Exit Policy.</p><p> </p><p>We are in the process of delivering a huge secondary legislation programme to ensure a functioning statute book on exit day. As of today, BEIS has laid 62 exit related statutory instruments, including new laws for a nuclear safeguards regime that will maintain the UK industry’s ability to trade in the nuclear sector while ensuring the UK remains on track to meet its international obligations on day one of exit, and plan to lay the remaining instruments by the end of this month.</p><p> </p><p>We have also published 28 technical notices, including on oil and gas, climate change, company law and state aid. These will continue to be updated.</p><p> </p><p>BEIS also continues to work closely with the rest of government on EU Exit issues, to ensure a cohesive approach is taken to support businesses. BEIS has contributed to cross-government information programmes, such as helping to develop the EU Exit business Q&amp;A tool, which was been used over 20,000 times.</p><p> </p><p>BEIS continues to meet with key stakeholders across all sectors to inform our approach and will continue to use their expertise. The Political Declaration set out that the UK and the EU will explore the possibility of cooperation of United Kingdom authorities with Union agencies such as the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), and the European Safety Agency (EASA).</p><p>Our future partnership is a matter for the next phase of negotiations, and so the exact form of this cooperation will be set out as part of those negotiations. There are currently 20 procurement processes above this threshold that have been let since 23<sup>rd</sup> June 2016 where the contract is expected to be awarded after 30<sup>th</sup> March 2019. There are more procurement processes that have run since 23<sup>rd</sup> June 2016, which have been awarded (or will be awarded before 29<sup>th</sup> March 2019) and will continue to run beyond 29<sup>th</sup> March 2019. However, we do not hold the contract end dates for these procurements until they are signed contracts therefore we cannot provide an exact figure for these.
