answer text <p>The Government has made no estimate of the cost of electrifying the Gospel Oak to Barking railway line. Network Rail will provide an estimate following formal sign-off of stage 3 of the Governance for Railway Investment Projects (‘GRIP’) process.</p><p> </p><p>The Department for Transport has allocated £90 million towards the project (2013 prices).</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) is responsible for determining the efficient cost of Network Rail’s CP5 enhancement schemes, not the Department for Transport.</p><p> </p><p>As explained in my previous response to the Honourable Member for Nottingham South, the ORR publishes quarterly updates on the enhancements cost adjustment mechanism (ECAM) process. This includes information about efficiencies identified on specific schemes through the ECAM process.
