The industry supports hundreds of thousands of direct and indirect jobs throughout the UK. Our refreshed Defence Industrial Policy, published in December 2017, sets out our commitment to encouraging a thriving and globally competitive UK defence sector as an integral part of the Government's overall Industrial Strategy. This includes encouraging the wider application of our investment in research, and Ploughshare Innovations Ltd was established specifically to support transfer of defence science and technology into the civilian market. My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence recently invited Philip Dunne MP to carry out an external review of opportunities to grow the contribution that defence makes to UK prosperity. Permission from each country would be required on each occasion, negating any possibility of unannounced visits. We do not believe that auditing end-user certificates through an end-use monitoring programme would result in proportionally better, more informed export licensing decisions.</p><p> </p><p>Our current approach is to focus on a rigorous risk assessment before a licence is issued to consider whether goods might be used in a way which is inconsistent with the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria, while retaining powers to revoke extant licences if circumstances dictate. This assessment looks at the information picture in the round, taking into account information from a range of information sources, including overseas diplomatic Posts. Core schools funding, for children and young people aged 5 to 16 (and up to 25 in the case of those with high needs) will rise to £43.5 billion by 2020. Head teachers are responsible for deciding how best to spend their budgets, for example to ensure that their staff are adequately trained.</p><p>Schools have a range of duties under the Equality Act 2010, including the Public Sector Equality Duty. The decision whether to legislate to compel participation depends on a number of factors such as the potential service design, delivery model and governance arrangements. Our findings on this will be included in the feasibility study which will be published shortly.</p><p> </p><p>People can access the online ‘Check your State Pension’ service through GOV.UK to get a forecast of their State Pension, where they can get information about how they may be able to improve it, as well as view their National Insurance contribution record. Check Your State Pension has provided more than ten million online estimates since its introduction in 2016.
