answer text <p>Testing in residential tower blocks is well underway. Local authorities and housing associations have been instructed to submit samples of Aluminium Composite Material (ACM) cladding for testing. We have also alerted owners, landlords and managers of private sector residential blocks, and made the testing facility available to them at no cost. We are working closely with landlords, local authorities and the fire and rescue services to determine the best course of action for any block of flats - including private residential blocks - determined to have ACM.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government has made available a £5 million Grenfell Tower Residents Discretionary Fund to help meet the immediate needs of those affected. Each family whose home was destroyed is receiving a £5,500 payment from the emergency fund so they can buy food, clothes and other essentials. We are also paying all additional adults over 16 in these households £500 in cash. Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea is making additional payments to those affected on a case by case basis, for example to those whose home has been severely impacted but not permanently destroyed.</p> more like this

The landlords for all the affected buildings are expected to take action to inform tenants and implement the interim measures set out in guidance sent by the department on 22 June.
