<p>NHS England has appointed a National Clinical Director for eye care to oversee the recovery and longer-term transformation of eye care services. Through this programme, NHS England is reviewing which services can be moved safely into the community, supported by secondary care specialists utilising digital technology. The transformation programme will also consider how ophthalmology data is collected and used to inform the future planning of services.</p>
