<p>The Government continues to believe that nuclear power has an important role to play as we transition to a low carbon economy, as long as it provides value for money for taxpayers and consumers. Our commitment to nuclear power has been demonstrated by giving the go-ahead to the first new nuclear power station in a generation at Hinkley Point C, as well as launching our landmark £200m Nuclear Sector Deal last year, which includes support for advanced nuclear technologies.</p>
