answer text <p>The Home Office has no plans to establish a Royal Commission into police funding. Such a Commission would be a substantial undertaking requiring significant time and resource.</p><p>Instead, the Government is on the front foot in engaging with the police and we recognise the changing demands they are facing. The department supports forces to achieve their vision for policing through funding and work to improve forces' capabilities under five main strands: local policing; specialist capabilities; workforce; digital policing; and business enablers.</p> more like this

answer text <p>We are assessing the implications of changes to the public service pensions discount rate change announced in Budget 2018 on all forces.</p><p>The Budget made clear that part of these costs will be met from the Treasury Reserve in 2019/20. As the Chancellor set out in his speech, the Home Secretary will review police spending power ahead of the provisional police funding settlement for 2019/20 to be published next month.</p><p> </p> more like this
