answer text <p>There are a number of regulations in relation to flying the Union Flag.</p><p>As port operators are independent, and are not public buildings/authorities they must make their own decision on flying the Union Flag . Broader port requirements and licensing conditions are set by Department for Transport.</p><p>The policy on flag protocols on public buildings is the preserve of the Department for Digital, Culture, Media &amp; Sport.</p> more like this
