answer text <p>The Director General, Exports vacancy was advertised at Senior Civil Servant Pay Band 3, and the salary will be in line with that advertised, of up to £140,000. Once in post their annual salary details will be published in due course on gov.uk as part of the department's transparency return. The transparency return will next be published in May 2018.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government publishes Official Statistics (on a quarterly and annual basis) of licences granted and refused for military exports on GOV.UK and can be found at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/strategic-export-controls-licensing-data" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/strategic-export-controls-licensing-data</a></p><p>In the last ten years one licence has been refused under criterion 8 of the Consolidated EU and National Arms Export Licensing Criteria.</p><p>The licence application in question was submitted by an UK exporter and was refused in 2010. The intended destination of the goods was Sierra Leone.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Within the Department for International Trade, the Defence and Security Organisation (DIT DSO) helps the UK defence and security industries to export. The Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU), which is a joint unit of DIT, FCO and MOD, administers the UK's system of export controls.</p><p> </p><p>DIT DSO currently has a total of 120 staff. answer text <p>The Government's priority is securing continuity for our existing international agreements, including EU trade agreements, as we leave the EU.</p><p>The agreement reached between the UK and the EU at the March European Council sets out that the UK is to be treated as a Member State for the purposes of its international agreements during the Implementation Period.</p><p>We are also engaging with partner countries on individual trade agreements, which will come into force following the Implementation Period and will lay the foundations for deeper future relationships. None of the over 70 nations with which we have held discussions have any interest in disrupting trade flows, or erecting barriers where none currently exist.</p> more like this
