answer text <p>Direct entry offers the opportunity to widen the talent pool from where we attract our police officers and will bring in people from a diverse range of backgrounds. The introduction of direct entry allowed professionals from other sectors to join policing at a senior rank for the first time. These individuals have demonstrated that it is possible to join at this rank and gain the skills and competencies required to perform the job while also bringing a fresh perspective to police leadership.</p><p>The College of Policing is responsible for delivery of the direct entry scheme and will be publishing an evaluation fo the implementation of direct entry next year.</p><p> </p> more like this
