answer text <p>The UK has a strong history of protecting human rights.</p><p> </p><p>The UK was the first country to produce a National Action Plan for the implementation of the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights.</p><p> </p><p>The UK is also a voting member of the UN Human Rights Council. The UK was a founding member of the UN Human Rights Council and has served as a member of the Council for the majority of its 12-year lifespan.</p><p> </p><p>UK has long supported the promotion of these values globally and this will continue as we leave the EU.
