answer text <p>We have published information about the management of town and village greens, which is available on the Government website Gov.uk.</p><p> </p><p>Under the heading <em>Manage your town and village greens</em> this states that works must not be carried out which could damage the town or village green or interrupt its use as a place for exercise and enjoyment. It further states that you should check the need to get planning permission before any work is carried out, but that no special permission is required if the planned works are to improve the green for visitors’ enjoyment.</p> more like this
