answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2016 answer text <p>The number of press and public relations staff employed in the central Department on 1 January 2016 was sixteen (all full-time employees). Four of those staff have annual salaries over £50,000 and none are over £100,000.</p><br /><p>The total of 16 staff compares to an equivalent figure for the central Department in 2009/10 of 19.</p><br /><p>The total expenditure on press and PR staff and related services in 2014-15 was £1,266,000.</p><br /><p>Overall communications expenditure by the central Department in 2014-15 was £22 million lower than in 2009-10. Since 2011 – the first year for which data is readily available – the Department has given final funding approval and awarded a grant to one major transport schemes whose costs exceeded its benefits:</p><br /><p>- Sheffield Tram Train Pilot. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2016 answer text <p>In the Department for Transport itself, no posts have been based in Stoke-on-Trent since 2010.</p><br /><p>The Department’s Executive Agencies (Maritime and Coastguard Agency, Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, Vehicle Certification Agency and Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) have had no posts based in Stoke-on-Trent since 2010, other than the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, who respond as follows:</p><br /><p>As part of the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency’s (DVSA) testing transformation programme, which has the aim of taking testing closer to the customer, DVSA’s Goods Vehicle Testing Station (GVTS) in Stoke-on-Trent was closed in April 2015. Twenty nine roles were based at this testing station. The staff previously based at the station are still working for DVSA in the area; twenty four of these roles are now based at other DVSA sites and the remaining five staff are being redeployed to other roles in DVSA.
