answer text <p /> <p>The majority of unaccompanied children applying for permission to remain in the UK will be seeking asylum, and are therefore able to apply for legal aid. Legal aid also remains available for immigration advice for victims of trafficking and modern slavery, including child victims.</p><p> </p><p>Applications for non-asylum immigration cases involve the provision of factual information and accompanying evidence, so lawyers are not usually required.</p><p> </p><p>Civil legal aid has been retained for the highest priority cases, where life or liberty is at stake, where there is a risk of serious physical harm, loss of home, or where children may be removed from a family. Exceptional case funding may be available in non-asylum immigration cases.</p> more like this
