The 2013-14 Departmental Consolidated Accounts are the second set of accounts to include academy trusts information. The sheer size and complexity of the consolidation means that the accounts could not be laid within the usual Parliamentary pre-summer recess timeframe. The Department for Education has advised the Public Accounts Committee it aims to lay the annual report and accounts in December 2014, a month earlier than was possible last year.
