The Department for Transport continues to work with the Department for International Development regarding the current situation in West Africa. The airline that had proposed operating direct services, Gambia Bird Airlines, were invited to make representations to the Department for Transport and these are currently under consideration. I recently met the Sierra Leone Minister of Transport and Aviation, Hon. Leonard Balogun Koruma, and discussed this and other issues.
