<p>The department’s officials are in regular discussions with Her Majesty's Treasury,
and as we prepare for the forthcoming Spending Review settlement for the 2022-23 financial
year and beyond, we will continue to press the importance of the early years sector
across government. We will not be launching an independent review of childcare at
this time.</p><p>This issue was debated in Westminster Hall on 13 September pursuant
