answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 06/11/2018 answer text <p>The social and economic cost of organised drugs supply to the UK is estimated to £20 billion for the financial year 2015/16. This is an increase of £9.3 billion compared to the previous estimate for the financial year 2010/11. This is due to:</p><ul><li>an increase in the unit costs used to estimate drug-related acquisitive crime;</li><li>an increase in the volume of drug-related deaths;</li><li>the inclusion of costs to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, the National Crime Agency, and expenditure on media information activity;</li><li>the inclusion of non-legal aid defence spending in the costs to the criminal justice system for drug possession and supply offences and, to a lesser extent, the opportunity cost of jurors’ time,</li></ul><p>Given much of the change in cost is attributable to changes in methodology, the 2015/16 estimate is not directly comparable with the 2010/11 estimate. Most of the change should not therefore be interpreted as a worsening of the overall situation.</p><p>The Government’s new Serious and Organised Crime Strategy emphasises the importance of tackling the high harm networks supplying drugs and trafficking them across the border. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/11/2018 answer text <p>The National Police Chiefs’ Council has established the vulnerability knowledge and practice programme (formerly vulnerability coordination centre) to improve police practice in recognition of the critical role of police in protecting vulnerable people. Four staff and two officers are employed on the programme.</p><p><br>Ministers have awarded £2.5million from the Police Transformation Fund over two years (2018/19 – 2019/20) to the College of Policing to improve the evaluation of promising practice in policing. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 20/11/2018 answer text <p>It is difficult to measure the number of children at risk of child sexual exploitation with confidence because methodologies vary and because most child sexual abuse remains unreported.</p><p>In its report, Measuring the Scale and Changing Nature of Child Sexual Abuse Child Sexual Exploitation, published in August 2018, the Centre of Expertise on Child Sexual Abuse refers to several studies which have sought to assess the number of children at risk of sexual exploitation in England using different methodologies and data sources. These include a survey of 100 local authorities in 2016 which identified 13,466 children at risk, and a study by the Office of the Children's Commissioner in 2012 which estimated 16,500 children to be at risk.</p><p>The Department for Education published statistics on “Characteristics of children in need: 2017/18: England” on 25 October 2018. These show nearly 20,000 assessments carried out by children’s services where child sexual exploitation was identified as being a factor that contributed to the child being in need. The strategy includes a range of commitments designed to ensure young people receive the help and support they need.</p><p>We do not have estimates of the number of young people who will be helped by the Early Intervention Youth Fund, the anti-knife crime Community Fund and the National County Lines Co-ordination Centre. A hub within the National Crime Agency has been active since early this year, and the Centre itself became fully operational on 21 September.
