answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 19/01/2023 answer text <p>Sport and physical activity provide important physical and mental health benefits and also help to develop vital social connections and leadership skills that will set young people up for life.</p><p>The Government is committed to ensuring that children and young people can be physically active and to increase the chances for children to take part in competitive sport.</p><p>The School Games form a key part of this. As part of this, we expect sports organisations and major sporting events to do all they can to ensure autistic spectators have the best possible experience.</p><p>In 2016, the Premier League, alongside The Shippey Campaign and The Lord’s Taverners, launched a programme to fund sensory rooms in 20 top-flight clubs. These provide a more comfortable and appropriate environment for autistic children to watch football matches. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/06/2022 answer text <p>We are aware meeting the requirements of the Habitats Regulations is impacting on development in some areas and my department and DEFRA continue to work across government to identify the range of solutions in the short, medium and long term. There is a package of support in place to enable local authorities affected by nutrient pollution to meet the requirements of the Habitats Regulations. This includes tools to help local authorities understand nutrient neutrality, ongoing practical support and funding to enable affected areas to respond to the challenges of nutrient pollution in a partnership approach.</p><p>Government is working with the water industry and regulators to ensure that considerable investment is directed at reducing nutrient pollution from wastewater. From 2020 to 2025, water companies are investing £2.5 billion in measures that reduce nutrient pollution. We are also taking action to support farmers to go further to reduce agricultural pollution and deliver for nature.</p><p>DEFRA have launched the Environment Act 2021 environmental targets consultation. This includes proposals for legally binding long-term targets to directly address pollution in the water environment from agriculture and wastewater. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/06/2022 answer text <p>Building more high-quality, climate-friendly social and affordable homes is an absolute priority for this Government.</p><p>To enable local authorities to deliver this social housing, including through their own housebuilding programmes, we have given local authorities a comprehensive range of tools. This includes our £11.5 billion Affordable Homes Programme (AHP) which councils can bid for, the abolition of the Housing Revenue Account (HRA) borrowing cap in 2018, as well as continued access to low-cost borrowing via the Public Works Loan Board. The AHP will provide up to 180,000 new homes across the country, should economic conditions allow.</p><p>From 2025, the Future Homes Standard will ensure that all new homes, regardless of tenure, produce at least 75% less CO2 emissions than those built to the 2013 standards. Ahead of the Future Homes Standard, we have introduced an uplift in energy efficiency standards, which will come into force in June 2022, this means all new homes will deliver around 30% fewer CO2 emissions than those built to the 2013 standards.</p><p>The Right to Buy scheme is also an important contributor to new housing supply with additional properties sold under the scheme being replaced with new affordable homes. In March 2021 we announced a package of reforms that will give councils more freedom on how they spend the money they receive from Right to Buy sales to help them build even more council homes, including homes for social rent. First Homes are homes which are sold to first-time buyers with a discount of at least 30% from full market value.</p><p>Crucially, the discount will be passed on to all future purchasers in perpetuity, so these homes will keep helping first-time buyers onto the property ladder for generations to come. Beyond the national criteria, local authorities will be able to set local connection and/or key worker criteria for First Homes in their area, based on the needs of their local community.</p><p>Alongside support for key workers purchasing First Homes, we are committed to increasing the overall supply of affordable homes. Our £11.5 billion Affordable Homes Programme will deliver up to 180,000 affordable homes, should economic conditions allow. Approximately half of the homes delivered will be for affordable home ownership, supporting aspiring homeowners to take their first step on to the housing ladder.</p><p>The Government is committed to increase first-time buyer numbers in all regions, and will do so by looking at all of the factors that influence ownership levels, including housing supply and the availability of low deposit mortgages. We will also explore further options to limit the competition first-time buyers face. This means looking at all of the options available to government to limit the factors which are pricing out local people, seeking to learn from international comparators. To comply with this requirement, each dwelling should comply to a performance standard either by pre completion testing in rooms and stairways or by constructing the building to a prescribed method that will achieve this standard.
