<p>Cardiovascular disease (CVD) prevention and management are key priorities for NHS
England, and as such the NHS Long Term Plan contains details of a number of important
measures in relation to CVD. A key milestone in the CVD section of the NHS Long Term
Plan is that the National Health Service will help prevent up to 150,000 heart attacks,
strokes and dementia cases over the next 10 years.</p><p> </p><p>The National Implementation
Framework, to be published in the spring, will provide further information on how
the NHS Long Term Plan will be implemented. Additional details, based on local health
system five year plans, will be brought together in a detailed national implementation
plan in the autumn.</p><p> </p><p>NHS England will continue to work closely with key
partners and stakeholders, including the British Heart Foundation, Stroke Association,
Alzheimer’s Society and other voluntary sector partners, as it supports the NHS to
deliver the commitments set out in the NHS Long Term Plan.</p>
