We regularly discuss these issues with the HDP itself. We expect Turkey, as a modern democracy, to undertake legal processes against MPs fairly, transparently and with full respect for the rule of law. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/02/2019 answer text <p>We remain deeply concerned about the deteriorating human rights situation in Russia, including the treatment of Jevovah's Witnesses and the recent case of Denis Christensen.</p><p>The Minister for Human Rights Lord Ahmad has previously issued a statement urging Russia to uphold its international human rights obligations to protect citizens who may be at risk of persecution. Our Ambassador to Moscow has raised concerns directly with the Russian Government.</p><p>We continue to prioritise the promotion and protection of human rights, and will continue to make our concerns clear in bilateral interactions at all levels, where appropriate. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/02/2019 answer text <p>The Government has made it clear that Ministers must be consulted whenever UK intelligence and security personnel involved in an operation believe that a detainee is at serious risk of mistreatment by a foreign state. The Consolidated Guidance sets out the principles, consistent with UK domestic law and international law obligations, which govern the interviewing of detainees overseas and the passing and receipt of intelligence relating to detainees. The guidance is used by and must be adhered to by officers of the UK’s intelligence and security agencies, members of the UK’s armed forces and employees of the Ministry of Defence. Most recently, the Secretary of State for International Trade met his Ecuadorean counterpart, Mr Pablo Campana, on 24 January. Discussions focused on replicating the current broader EU-Andean Free Trade Agreement into a bilateral agreement with the UK, to ensure there is no disruption to our trading relationship as we leave the EU. More widely, British Government officials, including our Ambassador in Quito, are in regular contact with the Ecuadorean government on a variety of bilateral issues, including the economic relationship. As set out in the Political Declaration on the future relationship between the UK and EU, the Government has offered to cooperate closely on defence and security as part of an ambitious Security Partnership. This would be on a case-by-case basis, where of mutual benefit.</p><p>While our focus remains on securing agreement with the EU, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, like the rest of Government, is also preparing for &quot;No Deal&quot;. In a No Deal scenario, the UK would have to withdraw from Common Security and Defence Policy missions and operations - both military and civilian - and withdraw associated personnel seconded to the EU institutions.
