That is why Government is consulting on a package of measures aimed at tackling these issues. answer text <p>The Government is determined to protect people from being tricked out of their life savings by fraudsters. Currently, almost 11 million pensioners are being targeted annually by cold callers.</p><p> </p><p>The proposed ban, which allows calls where an existing relationship exists or at the express request of the recipient, is intended to allow legitimate businesses to continue to operate. The Government sought evidence on potential impacts on firms as part of its consultation. The consultation closed on 13 February and the Government is reviewing responses.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The Government has made no recent assessment of the current and future number of complaints to the Financial Ombudsman Service about retirement product mis-selling.</p><p> </p><p>In July 2016 the Financial Conduct Authority launched the Retirement Outcomes Review to look at how firms and consumers have responded to the new freedoms. This will include looking at how firms engage with their customers following the pension freedom reform, and what impact this has on consumer decision-making.</p><p> </p> more like this
