answer text <p>Gov Facility Services Limited will be an arms-length body of the Ministry of Justice. The Board has initially been drawn from existing senior Civil Servants within the Ministry of Justice who have experience of operating a commercial business, prison sector experience and related property experience. It will also consist with an independent board member that is a senior Civil Servant not directly connected with the service who has considerable experience within the justice sector.</p> more like this

answer text <p>No historic financial liabilities were taken over by the Ministry of Justice and/or Gov Facility Services Limited from Carillion. The Department has incurred costs when forming Gov Facility Service Limited which were covered by the approved contingency plan. The only financial liabilities created by the agreement between Carillion and GFSL relate to the purchase of plant and equipment owned by Carillion, which is currently being assessed/valued.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The number of female offenders sentenced to immediate custody at all courts in England and Wales, by sentence length and offence group in 2016, can be viewed in the attached table.</p><p> </p><p>We are committed to doing all we can to address the issues around female offending so we can better protect the public and deliver more effective rehabilitation. answer text <p>The Ministry of Justice records defects of the contract where there have been deficiencies in the service delivered by contractors. These are flagged to the contractor so that they can correct them in a timely manner. We keep all our contracts under a robust monitoring system. Defects have been reported to Carillion 578 and Amey 299 times since the start of the contract in June 2015.</p> more like this

answer text <p>The number of convictions for drink driving in England and Wales can be found in the motoring data tool in the annual criminal justice system statistics publication at: <a href="https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/criminal-justice-system-statistics-quarterly-december-2016" target="_blank">https://www.gov.uk/government/statistics/criminal-justice-system-statistics-quarterly-december-2016</a> Convictions in Scotland and Northern Ireland are matters for the relative devolved administrations.</p><p> </p><p>The maximum custodial sentence for the offence of causing serious injury by dangerous driving is 5 years’ imprisonment and for causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs is 14 years’ imprisonment.</p><p> </p><p>Since 2010 court data indicates that nine offenders have received prison sentences of over 4 years for causing serious injury by dangerous driving.</p><p> </p><p>In 2016, no offenders received sentences of more than 10 years for causing death by careless driving whilst under the influence of drink or drugs.</p><p>Court proceedings data for England and Wales for 2017 are planned for publication in May 2018.</p>
