answer text
Assessments of a company’s ability to deliver its obligations is performed during each procurement exercise Our Arm’s Length Bodies (ALBs) also have contingency plans which vary depending on the particular contract. ALBs are working to ensure continuity of service and they have not currently reported any operational issues. With respect to the CEK Joint Venture (comprising Carillion, Eiffage and Kier) on HS2, HS2 Ltd undertook due diligence on the CEK Joint Venture prior to the Main Works Civils Contract Award in July 2017. HS2 Ltd has also carried out additional due diligence and sought re-assurance of both Joint Venture partners, Kier and Eiffage, that they remain committed and capable to deliver the contract. Each company's Boards have both given that assurance and confirmed that they underwrite the performance of each other and have the capacity to deliver the HS2 contract.
more like this

A joint venture called CEK JV (comprising Carillion, Eiffage and Kier) was awarded the contract in July 2017. HS2 Ltd undertook due diligence on the CEK Joint Venture prior to the MWCC Award in July. answer text
No, the criteria used to evaluate and award construction contracts for HS2 ltd are commercially confidential. The Department undertakes due diligence in advance of the award of contracts. HS2 Ltd carried out additional due diligence and sought re-assurance of both it and its two partners in the Joint Venture, Kier and Eiffage, that they remained committed and able to deliver the contracts. Each company's Boards have both given that assurance and confirmed that they underwrite the performance of each other in delivering the contract.
