answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 15/11/2018 answer text <p>The Ministry of Defence has not made any assessment of the effect of burn pits used by the US to dispose of military waste on the health of members of the UK Armed Forces who served in Iraq and Afghanistan. Where burn pits are used on military operations the UK regularly monitors air quality levels.</p><p>If Serving personnel consider that their health has been affected they should seek medical advice from Joint Medical Group, previously Defence Medical Services. For veterans, their healthcare is provided by the National Health Service in England and the Devolved Administrations. The WPS covers illness or injury due to Service before 6 April 2005 and the AFCS covers illnesses and injuries on or after 6 April 2005. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 08/02/2018 answer text <p>Fifteen failed asylum seekers remain resident in the Sovereign Base Areas (SBA). They were among a group of approximately 70 individuals who were rescued from a boat in distress in 1998 near Akrotiri. These failed asylum seekers have indicated many times they do not wish to be returned to their countries of origin, or re-apply for asylum in the Republic of Cyprus. It has not been possible to identify a third country willing to accept them. Whilst our improved bilateral relationship with Iran allows for discussions on issues such as the expansion of the trading relationship, it also allows us to raise our consular cases, including where we have concerns. The UK treats all our consular cases with the utmost importance and continues to raise them with the Iranian authorities at the highest levels. The underlying evidence to support a designation or propose a delisting is made available to the Council and held on file.</p><p>The Council decides collectively on the sharing of information externally. Member States are bound by a duty of professional secrecy with respect to Council documents unless they have been made publicly available, as set out in the Council's Rules of Procedure. This has focussed on strengthening the moderate opposition, building resilience against extremists, fostering civil society structures in besieged areas, promoting Human Rights, delivering basic governance and laying the foundations for a more peaceful and inclusive future for Syria. Further details of our funding can be found on the Gov.uk website.</p><p>The UK has always punched above its weight in helping deal with the effects of the Syria crisis. Our vision for Syria is an open, democratic society with greater social, economic and political participation where violent extremism does not have a place and where refugees feel safe to return.
