answer text <p>The Department uses Test and Evaluation to support decision making throughout the acquisition cycle to understand the performance of the equipment that we procure.</p><p>Test and Evaluation activities are used to demonstrate that equipment is fit for purpose, safe and compliant with contract requirements. The suitability of these activities is an integral part of our normal acquisition management processes and decision points.</p><p> </p> more like this

answer text <p>Centrally held contingency funding for the Defence Equipment Plan was introduced for the first time in 2012. During the 2014 Annual Budget Cycle, it was re-profiled into the later years to reflect better the level of risk in the equipment plan. As a result we have not spent any of the contingency in the years to date. However, we have allocated funding from it in future years to support specific programmes (Rotary Wing Flying Training System and Ajax Vehicles).</p> more like this

The FV432 Mk1 entered service in the 1960s and was replaced by the Mk2. The FV432 Mk1 is no longer in service.</p><p>[2] Snatch 1 was procured in the 1990s. In the 2000s Snatch I was upgraded and extensively refurbished to a number of build standards (Snatch 2, 2A and 2B) which remain in-service in a variety of roles.</p><p>[3] The first WMIK’s were procured in the 1990s. Additional WMIKs were procured in the 2000s to provide a reconnaissance capability. All in-service WMIKs have been upgraded and refurbished to a new build standard.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>
