<p>The Department does not hold data on the amount of foreign direct investment into
the UK film industry in each year from 1997 to 2009. The amount spent in the UK on
the production of inward investment films is shown in the table below, which also
includes investment from UK production companies in those films. No information is
held information on the amount of foreign investment in other parts of the industry
