A high proportion of charities are based in cities and towns, or have their main office in London, but deliver activity and services to a much wider area. Figures often don’t reflect the spread of activity and the overall offer of services and projects funded by The National Lottery Community Fund within a particular constituency. We have reached over 900 commissioners, civil society organisations and councillors across the country through our Enabling Social Action Programme. NGBs are required to develop culture action plans based on their survey results, and UK Sport hold them to account for delivering these plans.</p><p><br> As I stated in my speech on 13th February to UK Sport, it is important that our top athletes are treated fairly and with respect. In the Civil Society Strategy, the government announced that this funding would be directed to a new, independent organisation, with a remit to address this social issue. This organisation was launched on 28th February 2019, with Richard Collier-Keywood appointed as its Founding Chair.
