answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/02/2019 answer text <p>In the October 2018 Budget the Chancellor of the Exchequer announced that up to £55 million additional funding would be made available for restoring historic high streets to boost retail and bring properties back into productive uses. This was part of the wider £675 million ‘Future High Streets Fund’. Additionally, there are also other grant schemes available through Historic England (HE). The intention is that at the end of the process governed by the Act and its associated code of practice, a treasure find will be acquired and conserved by a museum.</p><p> </p><p>The Act and code both emphasise the importance of conservation throughout the treasure find process. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/02/2019 answer text <p>Powers which may be used to tackle vandalism include the offence of criminal damage which carries a maximum sentence of up to ten years imprisonment and a Civil Injunction which can be imposed by the courts to place prohibitions or requirements on perpetrators of Anti social behaviour, which can include requiring them to stay away from a particular place or require them to repair damage to someone else’s property. For adults, breach is punishable by up to two years’ imprisonment and/or an unlimited fine.</p><p>The Government provides support for the repair of memorials through the Memorial Grant Scheme which makes grants towards the VAT incurred by charities and faith groups in the construction, repair and maintenance of public memorial structures, including war memorials. The scheme has a fixed budget of £0.5m per year for spending period.</p><p>To mark the centenary of the First World War, Government funded a four-year programme. One strand of this work was to ensure war memorials across the country are protected and the people they commemorate, remembered. The aim was to add 2,500 war memorials to the National Heritage List for England. These institutions are engaged in an active programme of object loans, touring exhibitions and research programmes and in 2017/18 lent to over 1,300 venues in the UK. The scheme is managed by English Heritage and follows guidance set out by them.</p><p> </p><p>However, there are many other plaque schemes throughout the country in various cities and towns. More than seventy civic societies have worked together to standardise the schemes and each of these has a set of guidance for assessment.
