answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/10/2018 answer text <p>While the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport does not hold the data requested, annual statistics on public libraries are collected by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA) from returns provided by local authorities. These include details of the net number of libraries open at 31 March of each year. Details of permanent library closures and library openings have been collected for each year since 2014/15 in these statistics.</p><p> </p><p>The Libraries Taskforce also published on 11 January 2018 an extended basic dataset verified by all local authorities in England. VB regularly host educational trips which include distilleries across Scotland, host several distilleries at their flagship promotional event ExploreGB and offer Whiskey tours through the VB online shop. The UK Government has consistently placed upholding the Agreement at the heart of its approach, and recognises the basis it has provided for the deep economic and social cooperation on the island of Ireland. This includes North-South cooperation.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The UK Government is confident we will reach an agreement with the EU that avoids a hard border between Northern Ireland and Ireland. Initiatives such as these help to encourage tourists to travel outside of London and see what the whole UK has to offer.</p><p>The Mayflower 400 received standalone grant (not Discover England Fund) of £500,000 over a two-year term ending 31 March 2018 to undertake a range of consumer marketing media ,PR Travel trade and product development activities.</p><p>The Mayflower is also a feature of the £500,000 Discover England fund project “US connections” which uses cultural connections to grow inbound tourism from the US. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 13/09/2018 answer text <p>Local authorities in England have a statutory duty under the Public Libraries and Museums Act 1964 (1964 Act) to provide a comprehensive and efficient library service. Under the 1964 Act, the Secretary of State has a duty to superintend, and promote the improvement of, the public library service provided by local authorities in England, and to secure the proper discharge by local authorities of their library authority functions.</p><p> </p><p>The Libraries Taskforce, jointly established by DCMS and the Local Government Association to provide leadership and help to reinvigorate the public library network in England, published a guidance document “Libraries as a statutory service” on GOV.UK in December 2015 to help guide local authorities about the legislative framework for library services.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, information and good practice about library service provision is available to local authorities through the Libraries Taskforce toolkits and regular blogs. Many of these provide innovative ideas and case studies from library services across England to share options and good practice.
