Officials at our Embassy in Jakarta, including the Ambassador, visit Papua regularly. Officials press the Indonesian authorities to address legitimate human rights concerns, including upholding the right of all citizens to peacefully protest, and promote the sustainable and equitable development of the province. The Ambassador met officials in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in January to discuss the situation in Papua. Although the UK government accepts that the Court needs reform, it still plays an important role in ending impunity for the most serious international crimes. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 05/02/2019 answer text <p>The Overseas Security and Justice Assistance Assessments (OSJAs) are designed to aid and reform the decision making process for particular overseas projects or programmes of a security or justice nature. There are no certain merits in introducing a centralised system for recording OSJA assessments. Organisations responsible for delivering a particular activity must draft, maintain and file the OSJA assessments. Overseas Posts are responsible for maintaining the in-country stage 1 assessments in countries where HMG is regularly providing security and justice assistance. OSJAs pertaining to ongoing activity should be regularly updated, particularly when there are changes in strategic context or incidents serious enough to warrant reassessment. I spoke to Foreign Minister Marapana on 8 February 2018 about the matter to raise my concerns. The Defence Attaché was recalled by his Government soon after.</p><p>The FCO, which is not a party to the legal proceedings referred to, has been contacted by Westminster Magistrate's Court seeking clarification of the Brigadier's diplomatic status in the UK at the time of the incident. The FCO is providing documentation to assist the court.</p><p>The UK is committed to upholding the rule of law including the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations.</p><p>The British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka met the Permanent Secretary of the Sri Lankan Ministry of Foreign Affairs on 24 January, at the Permanent Secretary's request. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 04/02/2019 answer text <p>The Foreign Secretary spoke to his counterpart Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland of Canada on 20 December and there have been regular contacts with Canada at official level since then. In a statement on 21 December, the Foreign Secretary expressed confidence that Canada was conducting a fair and transparent legal proceeding with respect to Ms Meng Wanzhou, the Chief Financial Officer of Huawei. He also expressed concern at suggestions of a political motivation for the detention of two Canadian citizens by the Chinese government, and called for them to be treated in a fair, unbiased and transparent manner.
