answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 17/11/2014 answer text <p>No formal assessment of the number of citizens who have suffered threats or violence as a result of converting from Islam to another belief system has been made.</p><p>However the UK Government takes all forms of hate crime very seriously. We deplore all religious and racially motivated attacks and so-called honour-based violence. We are encouraging anyone who is a victim of a hate crime, or subject to race-related abuse or attack, to report the incident to the police, so the offenders can be dealt with appropriately.</p><p><br>The May 2014 progress report into hate crime provides both an overview of Government achievements, and case study examples, demonstrating how work to tackle hate crime is being carried out locally. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/11/2014 answer text <p>The Foreign Enlistment Act 1870 remains in force and there are no current plans to amend it.</p><p>The UK has a range of terrorism and criminal law offences to tackle British citizens who travel overseas to participate in armed conflict abroad. Where there is evidence that these individuals are engaging in activities there which may harm the UK, we can already seek prosecution on their return to the UK.</p><p>The Prime Minister recently announced a package of wide-ranging measures which will further strengthen our capability to deal with the increased threat from foreign fighters and British-born jihadists who seek to harm the UK. Efforts to prevent further deaths in the Mediterranean remain focused on national search and rescue activities led and coordinated by the appropriate EU Member State National Coordination Centre. However, Search and Rescue remains outside the competence of the EU or its Agencies, including Frontex. <br><br>These efforts are supported by the new European Border Surveillance System (EUROSUR), which was set up to reduce the number of irregular migrants entering the EU undetected; to reduce the number of deaths at the maritime borders by saving more lives at sea, and to increase the internal security of the EU as a whole by contributing to the prevention of cross-border crime. It uses ship reporting systems, satellite imagery and sensors mounted on vehicles, vessels or other craft to help build a shared pre-frontier intelligence picture.<br><br>The UK does not participate in the Eurosur Regulation as that Regulation is limited to the Member States of the Schengen area. The Forced Marriage Unit already collects data on forced marriage, which may include an element of dowry abuse. In 2013, the Unit provided advice or support in 1300 cases. While this does not reflect the full scale of the abuse (as many more cases are not reported), it enables the Unit to support those confident enough to come forward.</p><p>The Home Office is also committed to improving data collection on domestic abuse. Following HMIC’s report, the Home Office has begun work to make collection of data against a national standard on domestic abuse mandatory for all forces from April 2015. The Azure Card is provided to enable them to buy food and other items and is uploaded each week to the value of £35.39 for each person in the household.
