<p>EU citizens and their family members who have obtained pre-settled status under
the EU Settlement Scheme will continue to access benefits on the same basis and according
to the same rules as they do now.</p><p>This means EU citizens will still need to
demonstrate they are exercising a qualifying right to reside, for example as a worker,
in order to access taxpayer funded benefits, such as Universal Credit. This will continue
until their pre-settled status expires or until they are granted settled status.</p>
