The National Policing Lead for modern slavery, Chief Constable Shaun Sawyer, is currently developing the approach to improving the management of modern slavery related data across all 43 police forces in England and Wales. These improvements in managing modern slavery data will result in greater cohesion across policing, which in turn will improve our strategic understanding and operational responses.</p><p> </p><p>In addition, modern slavery offences have been added to the Home Office Counting Rules (HOCR) for the first time. The HOCR provides guidance to police forces about how crime reported to the police should be recorded, meaning that from 1st April 2015 all modern slavery crimes reported to the police will be properly recorded.</p><p> </p><p>The Government has introduced a new statutory role, the Independent Anti-slavery Commissioner, responsible for improving awareness and detection by law enforcement, as well as working with partners to increase the number of successful prosecutions of the perpetrators of modern slavery. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 14/01/2015 answer text <p>Cyber is a Tier One threat to national security, and the Government is investing £860 million over five years through the National Cyber Security Programme (NCSP) to respond. Of this, approximately 10% is being invested in building law enforcement capabilities to tackle cyber crime. This has been used to build capability at the national, regional, and local level. We have established a National Cyber Crime Unit within the National Crime Agency (NCA), and cyber teams within each of the Regional Organised Crime Units (ROCUs). NCSP funding is being used to train officers in these units to investigate the most serious cases of cyber crime.<br><br>We are also delivering training in cyber crime to officers in local police forces. The College of Policing has designed four training modules on cyber crime aimed at police officers and staff, on cyber,digital and social media. Since they were rolled out in 2013, over 120,000 of these modules have been completed. The College and police forces have also been delivering a classroom-based course to police investigators, which gives them the understanding of how to exploit intelligence and evidential opportunities offered by technology, social networking and communications data.<br><br>Over the next year we will continue to build law enforcement capability to tackle cyber crime. This includes increased staffing levels and technical resource. However the Strategic Policing Requirement (SPR) articulates the national threats to which local forces must have regard, and cyber crime and a large-scale cyber incident included, meaning they must be taken into account when deciding resource allocations.<br><br>Cyber, including cyber crime, was recognised as a Tier 1 threat to national security in the 2010 National Security Strategy. The Government has responded by investing £860 million over five years through the National Cyber Security Programme (NCSP).
