For border security reasons, it is not possible to provide a <br>breakdown of staff numbers by location. Furthermore, staff are deployed <br>flexibly according to demand and therefore move between locations. To identify this information, we would therefore need to review <br>each individual recruitment campaign, which would incur disproportionate cost. <br><br>Staff are deployed flexibly according to demand and move between locations and <br>regions. In order to provide information therefore on staff in the UK Visas and <br>Immigration, Border Force and Immigration Enforcement Directorates who reside <br>in Northern Ireland, locally held deployment plans would need <br>to be collected and analysed against individual employee's home addresses. All <br>Border Force officers undergo mandatory training and have guidance to enable <br>them to fulfil this important duty in an appropriate manner. Checks are <br>conducted on passengers arriving in the UK in accordance with the Border Force <br>Operating Mandate. <br><br>Where a child is encountered at the border, and it is not immediately apparent <br>that the accompanying adult is their parent or guardian, Border Force officers <br>will ask questions to satisfy themselves as to the child’s welfare and to <br>discharge their statutory duty. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 21/07/2014 answer text <p>The Government takes extremely seriously the threat posed by those who travel from the UK to join terrorist movements abroad and who might return with enhanced capabilities which they may intend to use against the UK or the intention of radicalising others.<br><br>The investigation and monitoring of individuals who pose a threat to our national security is an operational matter for the police and Security Service. Prosecution is always the preferred option for tackling terrorists. But where this is not possible a range of other disruptions may be used. <br><br>These include disrupting travel by cancelling British passports on public interest grounds, dual nationals’ deprivation of British citizenship and exclusion from the UK to prevent their return, and interviews at the border as part of Counter Terrorist investigations. <br><br>We have also proscribed a number of terrorist groups active in the Syrian conflict, including ISIS.
