It also shows the number of staff that cost the department over £40,000, £50,000, £75,000 and £100,000 in each year and <br>what the total cost of the press office was in each of those years. <br><br>These costs to the department do not represent salaries earned. The press office operates 24 hours a day 365 days a year and the figures include weekend and on-call allowances, overtime as well as pension and national insurance <br>costs.<br><br>Extra allowances were paid in 2012/13 for staff that were seconded to the Government Olympic Communication hub.<br><br>Since June 2010 we have reduced the number of posts by over 3,000 across the Home Office by centralising some corporate functions. The comparative number of staff in frontline roles is also provided.<br><br>The Home Office did not collect this data prior to March 2012. Activity in Operation NOTARISE was prioritised according to how much risk the individuals presented, including checking the appropriate databases. <br><br>Those with access to children have been given the highest priority. As of 23 October, 704 people have been arrested, 133 children protected and <br>324 children safeguarded. To do so would assist <br>potential criminals to evade detection. However, in investigations that start with an online identifier or IP address, such as online child sexual <br>exploitation cases, communications data will often be the only available investigative lead to identify a suspect or victim in the real world. If this <br>data is not available, such investigations cannot proceed. The objective is to increase reporting of slavery so that more victims can be supported and protected and more perpetrators of this heinous and hidden crime are brought to justice. We have paid for a number of sponsored online and print articles in the Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday to raise awareness of the issue and encourage reporting at a cost of £154,000. We are unable to give a cost for individual articles because of commercial confidentiality.
