NHS England and clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) have responsibility for determining the overall national approach to achieve this and improve clinical outcomes from healthcare services for people with respiratory disease, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>In December 2013, NHS England published Our Ambition to Reduce Premature Mortality: A resource to support commissioners in setting a level of ambition. This resource sets out the high impact interventions that CCGs can commission to improve outcomes for people with physical health conditions such COPD and asthma. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/12/2014 answer text <p>Change4Life is the Government’s flagship social marketing programme aimed at preventing childhood obesity by inspiring everyone to eat well, move more and live longer.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The Change4Life evaluation plan was published in 2012 and focused on a balanced scorecard of eight measures, designed to track how effective Change4Life was against its aims and objectives. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/12/2014 answer text <p>The Healthy Start scheme provides a nutritional safety net for pregnant women, new mothers and children under four years old in families throughout the United Kingdom who are claiming income-based benefits and tax credits.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Our successful Change4Life programme encourages everyone in England to 'eat well, move more, live longer' with a specific focus on lower income families with 5-11 year old children. Since its launch more than 1.9 million families have joined Change4Life. Its tools and resources incentivise and encourage behaviour change. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/12/2014 answer text <p>Patients in England have a right to start consultant-led treatment within a maximum of 18 weeks from referral for non-urgent conditions.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Whilst these waiting times are low and stable, some patients have not been starting their treatment as quickly as we would like. As a result, £250 million of additional funding has been provided to fund additional elective care treatments in 2014-15. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 10/11/2014 answer text <p>The Sentinel Stroke National Audit Programme, run by the Royal College of Physicians and funded through the Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership, aims to improve the quality of stroke care by auditing stroke services against evidence based standards.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>We know that when stroke survivors leave hospital, it is important that the right services are in place to ensure they have the support they need to make the best possible recovery. The review aims to:</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>- secure the best outcomes for all patients;</p><p> </p><p>- tackle variation; and</p><p> </p><p>- improve patient experience.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>The review has developed a set of draft standards and service specifications which are currently out to public consultation. The consultation runs until 8 December. question text	To ask the Secretary of State for Health, what steps his Department is taking to monitor the standard of care received by cancer patients and to reduce regional variations in the standard of such care.

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 16/07/2014 answer text <p>The latest Cancer Patient Experience Survey results, from 2013, shows that whilst variations between trusts still exist, the overall range of variation for many indicators has narrowed.</p><p> </p><p>For example, in 2010 the proportion of patients saying that they had been given the name of a Clinical Nurse Specialist ranged from 92% in the highest performing trust to 59% in the poorest performing trust (33 points); by 2013 this had reduced to 97% to 76% (21 points).</p><p> </p><p>NHS England is working with NHS Improving Quality to develop better ways of using the Cancer Patient Experience Survey (CPES) data within the National Health Service in order to maximise the impact of the survey, to be able to work with successful and struggling organisations to spread best practice for example. NHS Improving Quality will be doing a suite of work across all surveys to understand what the barriers are to implementing change and to showcase best practice where real improvements can be demonstrated.</p><p> </p><p>The CPES survey results are delivered to every organisation so each can see how they compare to other organisations. Currently, the action plans are taken into account as part of Peer Reviews. NHS England would expect that every trust board should know its own survey results and take account of them.</p><p><strong> </strong></p><p>Clinical commissioning groups are currently in the process of finalising measurable levels of ambition to improve patient experience and will be holding providers to account.
