answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/05/2019 answer text <p>For the cessation period which ended 16 August 2018, closing reserves were £203,657 which was returned to the Department, as the Founder, at close on 16 August 2018, in line with the requirements of the Trust Deed.</p><p>The Department has since directly financed the NHS Business Services Authority to administer the England Infected Blood Support Scheme to provide discretionary ex gratia financial assistance, to those individuals who have been shown to be infected or affected, by hepatitis C and HIV throughout the 1980s and 1990s. It took place in 2017 and was published by NHS Digital in November 2018. This information is not collected annually and the previous survey was published in 2004.</p><p>The survey looked at the extent of mental ill health in the 5-19 year old population and considered a range of demographic, socioeconomic, relationship, and health-related characteristics. It did not use National Statistics Socioeconomic classifications.</p><p>NHS Digital made an assessment of the 2017 survey, in ‘Mental Health of Children and Young People in England, Trends and characteristics’, which reported on associated demographic factors, including family functioning, household income, receipt of benefits, and neighbourhood deprivation. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/04/2019 answer text <p>The Department, through NHS England, remains committed to increasing older people’s access to psychological therapies via the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) programme.</p><p>Referrals into IAPT services for people aged 65 and over show a consistent rise over the last five years, from 5.5% of referrals in 2012/13 to 6.8% in 2017/18. This equates to approximately 2,000 extra referrals of people aged 65 and over each year.</p><p>Since April 2018 all clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) have been expected to expand IAPT by commissioning services that are integrated into physical healthcare pathways. These services are designed to support people with combined physical health long-term conditions (LTCs) and mental health problems. It is expected that this expansion will further increase access for older people, who are more likely than working age people to live with one or more LTCs.</p><p>We have introduced financial incentives through the Mental Health Quality Premium in 2017/18 and 2018/19 to reward CCGs for improvements in access to, and outcomes from, IAPT services for under-represented groups, in particular older people.</p><p>The NHS Long Term Plan, published on 7 January 2019, commits the National Health Service to improving the provision of mental health support for older people with a range of needs and diagnoses, including common mental health problems and severe mental illnesses.</p> answering member constituency Thurrock answering member printed Jackie Doyle-Price question first answered 30/04/2019 15:36:40 answering member 4065 label Biography information for Dame Jackie Doyle-Price

answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 30/04/2019 answer text <p>The Five Year Forward View for Mental Health set a target for every local area to develop a multi-agency suicide prevention plan that demonstrates how they will implement interventions targeting high-risk locations and supporting high-risk groups within their population. As of March 2019 all local authorities have confirmed with Public Health England that they have a plan in place that has been agreed with their local partners.</p><p>The Department is working with the Association of Directors of Public Health and local government sector to assess the effectiveness of local suicide prevention plans, and a report will be published in spring with findings and themes, including areas for improvement and areas of best practice which can be shared across local authorities. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 02/05/2019 answer text <p>The Department expects all clinicians to use the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidelines to inform their clinical practice. However, to further promote consistency in the levels of maternity care experienced across trusts, all maternity services now have one obstetrician, one midwife and one board level Maternity Safety Champion jointly responsible for championing maternity safety, spreading learning and encouraging best practice within their organisations.
