answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 12/07/2016 answer text <p>The most recent new measures to protect England from bovine TB were introduced on 6 April as part of the Government’s comprehensive strategy, which is on track to deliver TB-free status for over half of the country by 2019. These measures included:</p><ul><li><p>New legislation to require farmers in the Low Risk Area of England to arrange for post-movement testing of cattle coming from the rest of England and from Wales.</p></li><li><p>Tighter movement restrictions, with all herds in the High Risk Area of England affected by a new TB breakdown needing to pass two strict tests before movement restrictions are lifted. answer	answer is ministerial correction date of answer 11/07/2016 answer text <p>Supplementary interferon gamma blood testing improves the detection of infected cattle in TB affected herds in the Low Risk and Edge Areas of England reducing the risk of TB taking hold in parts of the country where the disease is not yet endemic.</p><p> </p><p>Information published by the Animal and Plant Health Agency (APHA) on gov.uk shows more supplementary interferon gamma tests in the High Risk Area in each of the years 2012 to 2015 than in 2009. The number of new dogs registered with the Index per year is in the table below. These principles ensure that the vast majority of fresh produce, meat, milk and dairy products sold at retail in Britain are clearly labelled with their country of origin.</p><p> </p><p>Most food law enforcement is delegated to local authorities throughout the UK to carry out checks of all food businesses in their area to ensure compliance with food safety, traceability and labelling requirements. Local Trading Standards Authorities have an enforcement role with respect to ensuring that general food labelling rules are complied with. The main role for the Food Standards Agency (FSA) in combatting misleading labelling of food is to provide assistance and resources to UK local authorities.</p><p> </p><p>To support this, the FSA makes funding available to UK Enforcement Authorities for sampling and surveillance of food to help ensure risk-based, targeted checks on food products throughout the food chain. The Rural Payments Agency ensures that data is fully refreshed every five years.
